voice-check
read a draft against the declared voice and name every line that breaks it
Reads a draft against the voice it declares: first the rules that voice sets, then the sentences that sound like somebody else. It quotes each offending line.

they are what runs — edit them until they describe how this company reads its own drafts.
When to use. Before anything is published, sent, or handed to a reviewer — and any time a draft is technically correct and still does not sound like us.
Steps.
- Read the voice the draft declares in its frontmatter, in full, before reading the draft.
- Rules pass: the banned words and required sections that voice declares. Quote the offending line; never paraphrase it.
- Register pass: the sentences that sound like somebody else. The test is whether the person this voice belongs to would say it out loud.
- Claims pass: every superlative, number and comparison. Sourced, or cut.
- Report a list — line, what breaks, and a replacement you would sign. Do not rewrite the draft; it is not yours.
- If the voice document is silent on something that came up three times, say so. That is a proposal to the voice, not a note on the draft.
