digest

compress a week of signals into one page, by lane, newest first

Sorts a pile of signals into the lanes the listening brief declares, orders each by what would change the reader's week, and drops what fits no lane. The result is one page.

Skill — digest

Invoke in any agent conversation with /digest. The steps below are a starting opinion, and they are what runs — edit them until they describe the page this company's reader would actually finish.

When to use. On the cadence the listening brief declares, and any time a pile of raw signal needs to become something a person can read in four minutes.

Steps.

  1. Read the listening brief first: the standing question, the lanes, and the bar an item has to clear.
  2. Sort every candidate into a lane. Anything that fits none is dropped — a new lane is a change to the brief, not a decision for today.
  3. Inside a lane, order by what would change the reader's week.
  4. One line per item: what happened, why it matters, and the link. Never two lines.
  5. Hold the ceiling. If a lane is empty, say it was empty; backfilling teaches the reader to skim.
  6. Open with the one thing to read if they read nothing else.
  7. Say what you dropped, as a count. A digest that hides its own selectivity cannot be argued with.
